š This week: groups are clocking to just have a good, fun, goofy time.
š¼Tracklist:
Choi Soo Ho - ONE:
Go or Die: So, Iāve started a trot playlist. I also have been clocking in as Choi Soo Ho's number one listener on airbuds all week, so⦠catch me just hanging out with the korean aunties soon, I guess. It's just good vibes, it's like very summer nights at an outdoor bar.
MOON SUA X SIYOON - SNAP (feat. sokodomo);
I will not say that I got this on the first listen, but I will blame my headphones for that (I couldn't really hear it, I had the same problem with trying to listen to cowboy carter on the dc metro). But I do love it now and even before I was excited that it was a move away from twinkly y2k. #stockholmsyndrome
We;Na - Wake Up:
This is a PokƩmon theme song. Not literally (aespa has the PokƩmon theme song right now) but it is Very similar and very fun. That or a slice of life anime opening. im into it.
AMPERS&ONE - WILD & FREE:
Kick Start: This kinda reminds me of a line dance, like in a positive way. Kinda cupid shuffle-esque, ya know. I do also think there is a bed spring sound effect used in the chorus, and I always appreciate an odd sound choice.
Kep1er - Yum:
Kep1er saw the success of whiplash and said āwe could do something like thatā and then made something a little crazy. Thank you for your service, kep1er. Noise music isn't just for the boys (I do actually prefer the girl groups noise music, but they never stick with it š)
KWON EUNBI - Hello Stranger:
This sounds appropriately mysterious for a song called Hello Stranger. You can also always count on Eunbi to have a sweeping belted chorus. This is not a bad thing, she does it very well, it's just something I've observed. Like, they're overlaying her own voice several times in that chorus, it's got resonance.
UNIS - SWICY
I am always chasing the emotions I felt when I first learned about ājoppingā: glee, horror, confusion, delight. This is like the pink glitter gel pen version of jopping. But not really because I don't think this song is about going to the club. So my search continues, but this was a cute and uplifting stopover. (swicy = sweet + spicy, in case you were wondering, they don't break it down for you as explicitly in the song as the superm boys did)
ME:I - MUSE:
Ready Go: heehee, Iām an 80s video game character. specifically in the level that takes place in the clouds for some reason. It's very floaty and bubbly, plus the (quite frankly) abuse of autotune, the sound direction on this goes crazy (positive).
MIYEON - Glow Up:
I like the vaguely 60s-70s vibe of this song, that's all. (I'm not a music historian (clearly) but I also don't care so if I'm wrong on those years š¤«).
