groups showed up for this weeks heat wave with Great summer songs

🗓️This week: worldcupworldcupWorldCupWORLDCUP. so, uh, I’ve been busy with that, watching soccer like it’s my job, it’s a miracle I found time to listen to music. Well, it’s not really a miracle, I’ve been committing the auditory war crime that is watching the telemundo broadcast while listening to kpop noise music. I’m not saying it works for everyone, but I do think most sports don’t utilize soundtracks as well as they could. Plus, I don’t get distracted while trying to work because I don’t speak spanish AND I don’t have to hear the other auditory war crime that is Alexi Lalas’ commentary.

🎼Tracklist:

• i-dle - Crow:

  • kpop “punk” is always a win for me, it’s the perfect music for what I imagine disney’s take on the hunger games would be. You know, like, teenage protagonist takes on dystopian government but sanitized. It’s a jam.

• STAYC - 2:LOVE:

  • SORRY: This is so dreamy, like, it’s kinda like the Adult Swim bumpers and I’m very much vibing with it.

• Hearts2Hearts - Lemon Tang:

  • Not their strongest title track, but not everything can be Rude! and this is a perfectly serviceable bubbly pop song. Like, it just makes you want to do that dance where you shuffle back and forth horizontally, you know what im talking about this is not a crazy thing to say.

• Jea - ROMANCE:

  • The album cover for this is a disco ball heart and I think that’s very apt. Play this at a roller rink and it would hit like crack in the 90s.

• AtHeart - Say It:

  • Yes, they sample “Lovefool” it’s very cute, however! my favorite part is the lead up bridge “don’t be stupid, don’t be shy, it’s kind of rude to live a lie”. it has a fun rhythm to it. Also, of course, glad to see AtHeart has another good song after everyone went nuts for Plot Twist.

• ATEEZ - GOLDEN HOUR:Part.5:

  • MAMACITA: Blind’s long lost sister. Songs that remind you they spent time training in LA. Unforch, easily the strongest song of the comeback, I don’t know how much re-listening I’ll be doing.

    Also, I can’t listen to Fallin’ because I do believe they sampled my airfryer and it makes me feel a little OCD like “did I leave that on, let me check, ok it’s off,,,,,but what if it’s not, let me check…..you know let me just take a picture that it’s off and look at that while I’m listening”

• from20 - BIG BOY:

  • I … i have no idea how i feel about this song. It’s kinda Lizzo, it’s kinda that duo from pentatonix. It is fully unserious and I need to know how big this boy actually is, brb…5’8”…ok so here’s the thing,,,,,, i love the ambition.
